frameing

head-framing
All of my paintings are custom framed. I first create the painting on a 3/16” Masonite® board surface. After it is sealed with a high gloss finish, I glue the artwork to a carefully constructed pine board backing, screwed together with metal L brackets. After it is allowed to dry for 24 hours under heavy pressure, I attach a painted black, inner pine frame. Next, a stained and varnished, simple oak outer frame is added for a sleek, finished look. All finishing nail holes are then filled using a matching oak colored wood putty. Finally, I add a heavy guage hanging wire. Depending on the size of the painting, some may weigh as much as twenty or more pounds.
